Jonathan Winters: An Original Moves On

Jonathan Winters was the original unruly, rowdy improv comedian. As a kid I loved watching him — a big, crazy kid. I can remember hearing the whispered comments about how vulgar he could be during his live shows. Can you imagine? I can’t.

We always looked forward to his appearances on The Dean Martin Show, especially when he turned up as Maude Frickert. And he had a great dramatic role in an episode of The Twilight Zone, “A Game of Pool,” in which his wish to play the greatest pool player is granted, to his eternal regret.

He will be missed.
